On 17th October 2007 I officially opened The Forest Arts Centre, Leamore, Walsall of which I am Ambassador. A plaque commemorating the day was unveiled in the reception area.

I am very interested in many aspects of the centre and hope that my career and knowledge can inspire the local talent to peruse careers in the Entertainment Industry.

Interview at Forest Arts.

In 2006 I was honored by my home town, with an exhibition at Walsall Museum, my life story was displayed in photographs with commentary, many of my industry awards, awards donated by artists I have worked with and a centre piece display of over 260 Platinium, Gold and Silver awards.

The Exhibition began on July 1st 2006 and closed on 3rd March 2007. ‘Kylie, Britney, Justin and Me’ has become Walsall Museum’s most successful exhibition ever, in terms of visitors.

Steve Jenkins is the only individual from Walsall to have an Exhibition at Walsall Museum, that is still alive, a fact that feels a little strange.

The Exhibition has led me into doing many Press, Radio and TV interviews across the country, something I refused to do whilst being Managing Director of Jive Records, regardless of all the requests. My belief was that record company staff should remain in the background and the stage was for our artists. This attitude kept my relationship with all our artists extremely strong, they knew our conversations would not appear in the press and were private.

Since being more prominent through the Media, I've been asked to speak at Colleges, Schools and Business gatherings, talking about my breaks, a thirty year career in the record business and the memories from all those hit records.
