Welcome to the Steve Jenkins Website
My career in music began as a DJ in the West Midlands in 1970; by 1973 I had started to work as a Regional Promotion Manager at Nems and Immediate Records. Chrysalis Records, MCA Records, and Mountain Records would all add to my education before starting my own company, Impulse Promotions in 1983. The success of that company would lead me to be Managing Director of Jive Records in 1989. By 1999, Jive Records would be the largest independent record label in the world with artists Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys, R,Kelly, Nsync, Steps and Justin Timberlake.

Since 1984 when Impulse started to become a successful company, until the closure of Jive Records within Sony/BMG in 2004, I have been fortunate to be awarded many Silver, Gold and Platinum sales awards, the highlight in sales explosion terms, being the Stock Aitken & Waterman years and the fifteen years at Jive Records. From 1999, Jive was Label of the Year for four consecutive years. To see all these awards click here.
In the past two years I have been a consultant with Sony/BMG and PWL Records, whilst also promoting the Exhibition ‘Kylie, Britney, Justin and Me’, celebrating my career, and currently running at the Walsall Museum. For further information on the Exhibition, surrounding events and personal appearances click here.
I am very proud to have been born in Walsall in the West Midland and strongly support the Town and its Football Club. Since my first visit to watch Walsall play, I have registered forty five seasons, some with pain and some with glory. This season I have written for the match day programme, which includes a commentary on the season so far, my form and acquaintances from various golf tournaments, some record business talk and memories. For Walsall information click here.
I hope the records from my career will remind you of good times in your life.
