Businessman’s Breakfast

On Thursday 9th November 2006, the new Walsall Business Breakfast Club, which has recently moved to Bescot Stadium invited me to address the members.

Its a comfortable situation to talk with business minded people from other industries, they often have a poor view of how the Record Industry works. Being a high profile industry, many myths occur, are written about, and become law. Its a pleasure to dispel some of the myths and bring some reality into the thoughts business people have about the Record Business.

The surroundings are excellent and very familiar to me as Ive been a Walsall Football Club supporter all of my life. The talk began with my early years around Walsall and my first visits to Walsall Football Club at the old Fellows Park ground from the age of eight. My favorite teams and players from years gone by, through my music career, and on to the present day. Again the question and answer session was a highlight for me, being an older audience than the students at the Academy, there was a different generation of questioning.. I enjoyed moments that I havent thought about in many years and consequently the meeting overran, it seemed everyone enjoyed our journey through those songs and artists through the years.

Afterwards we did interviews for local press and a video interview for the Express and Star, which enabled me to talk about a few hits and the good form of Walsall Football Club who currently stand top of Division 2.
